Borrowed from Balinese ᬮᬶᬦ᭄ᬤᬸᬂ (lindung, swamp eel),[2] ultimately from Proto-Austroasiatic *ʔnduŋ, *[l]nduŋ ("eel") through one of its descendants.[3]
