Inherited from Proto-Vietic *k-loːnʔ. Cognate with Arem tluǝnʔ and Tho [Cuối Chăm] klɔːn³.
Probably unrelated to 遁 (OC *lˤu[n]ʔ, “to escape, to flee”) (B-S) (SV: độn).
