πτύσσω

Ancient Greek

Etymology

Uncertain. Has been compared with Sanskrit प्युक्ष्नवेष्टित (pyukṣnaveṣṭita), but the connection is rather tenuous. This etymology is incomplete. You can help Wiktionary by elaborating on the origins of this term. May also be Pre-Greek, per Furnée; this is tentatively supported by Beekes.[1]
