Etymology
From *տի- (*ti-), from Proto-Indo-European *déh₁. Cognate with Latin dē (“from, without”), as in dē-bilis (“without strength, incapable”). See also տիեզերք (tiezerkʻ).[1]
Alternatively from Proto-Indo-European *dus- (“bad”).[2]
