Etymology
Contraction of الساعة (is-sāʔa, “the hour”). Compare Maltese issa, Iraqi Arabic هسا (hassa, “now”) and Egyptian Arabic لسا (lissa, “still”).

Usage notes
- The sense "still; just" attaches to personal pronouns by extending the stem to إسَّاتـ (ʔissāt-), as in إسَّاتنا (ʔissātna, “we’re still..., we’ve just...”).
