- (oftentimes derogatory) receptive, acceptive, or absorptive (of ideas, information, and so on); attentive
- 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 5:42:
- sammāʕūna lilkaḏibi ʔakkālūna li-s-suḥtifaʔin jāʔūka faḥkum baynahum ʔaw ʔaʕriḍ ʕanhumwaʔin tuʕriḍ ʕanhum falan yaḍurrūka šayʔan waʔin ḥakamta faḥkum baynahum bi-l-qisṭiʔinna llāha yuḥibbu l-muqsiṭīna
- Absorbers of lies, eaters of [shameful and worthless] trash! If they [ever] come to you, either judge their quarrels and disputes or turn away from them. If you [do] turn away, they cannot [ever] harm you, but if you judge, then judge fairly. Allah likes the fair.
