Borrowed from Arabic سِنْخ (sinḵ).

سنخ • (sinh) (definite accusative سنخی (sinhi), plural اسناخ (esnâh) or سنوخ (sünuh))

  1. tooth socket, a socket in the jaw in which the roots of teeth are held
  2. (anatomy) alveolus, any concave cavity or pit inside the human body
  3. (by extension) tang, the part of a knife which is inserted into the handle
