    Inherited from Prakrit चित्त (citta, mind), from Sanskrit चित्त (citta, heart, mind < longing < noticed), from the root चित् (cit, to notice). Doublet of चित्त (citt). Related to चीतना (cītnā, to think), चेतना (cetnā, consciousness), and the latter part of बातचीत (bātcīt).
