Etymology 1
From Proto-Southwestern Tai *raːᴬ² (“we two (inclusive)”). Cognate with Northern Thai ᩁᩣ, Khün ᩁᩣ, Lao ຮາ (hā), Lü ᦣᦱ (haa), Shan ႁႃး (háa), Tai Nüa ᥞᥣᥰ (häa), Ahom 𑜍𑜠 (ra), Zuojiang Zhuang raz.

Usage notes
- The pronoun is now archaic in Central Thai, but is still in everyday use in some dialects, such as Northern Thai where it appears as the vulgar ᩁᩣ/ฮา (haa) and is almost always used singularly.
