Etymology
From Proto-Celtic *-garyom, formed with the suffix *-om and the stem *gary-. This formation is also found in Gaulish, in adgarion from the Chamalières inscription.

Usage notes
Syncopates to -cr(a)e when warranted. All derivatives of with this suffix are neuter io-stems.
