Etymology

Compared to Proto-Na-Dene *tɬinqˀ; Proto-Athabaskan *ɬἀqˀ-ǝj, *ɬǝnqˀ-ǝj (“one, 1”), Eyak ɬĩhɢ (“one, 1”) and Tlingit tléixʼ (“one, 1”). Similar to *xʷin (“two, 2”), the reconstructed Dené-Yeniseian "numerals" were probably not.

This numeral is most likely the original gloss for 'one', replaced almost completely by *qawg and *quç.
