miss out (third-person singular simple present misses out, present participle missing out, simple past and past participle missed out)

1. (intransitive or transitive with 'on') To miss an experience or lose an opportunity, etc. that should not be missed.

2. (chiefly British, transitive) To leave out, to omit.

   People often miss out the "l" in "vulnerable".

   He made a list of children in the class but missed out Sally.
