Inherited from Proto-Turkic *teke (billy goat); cognate with Bashkir тәкә (təkə), Kazakh теке (teke), Kyrgyz теке (teke), Southern Altai теке (teke), Tatar тәкә (täkä), Tuvan те (te), Uyghur تېكە (tëke) and Uzbek taka.
