Borrowed from Classical Persian صَحِیح (sahīh), from Arabic صَحِيح (ṣaḥīḥ). Compare Assamese চহী (sohi), Bengali সই (śoi, “signature”), Gujarati સહી (sahī), Kannada ಸಹಿ (sahi), Marathi सही (sahī), Punjabi ਸਹੀ (sahī) / سَہی (sahy).
