Etymology

Derived from Old Khmer [script needed] (cheta chāya, “charmingly beautiful”), from [script needed] (cheta, “charming”) + [script needed] (chāya, “beautiful”), equivalent to Thai compound of เฉิด (chə̀ət) +‎ ฉาย (chǎai). Cognate with Modern Khmer ឆើតឆាយ (chaətchaay).
