Etymology

First attested in the early 4^th century in Accession of King Wu, an extra chapter in Forged Old Text Book of Documents. Originally meaning to cruelly destroy nature's creatures.

Shou, the present king of Shang, is without principle, cruel and destructive to the creatures of Heaven, injurious and tyrannical to the multitudes of the people.
