Etymology
Shortened from 耽牟羅 (MC tom|tomX mjuw la, “Tanmura”); whose last two moras are ultimately borrowed from Proto-Japonic *mora (“village, settlement”), via a Japonic substratum. Compare Japanese 村 (mura, “village, settlement”) and Middle Korean 물 (mwul, “group, crowd”).
