1. (intransitive) to fly, soar (optionally with locative suffixes)

   Synonyms: repül, szárnyal

2. (intransitive, of time) to fly, to pass

   Synonyms: telik, repül

   Gyorsan száll az idő. ― Time flies.

3. (intransitive) to settle on/onto/at someone or something (used with lative suffixes)

   Synonym: telepedik

   A madár egy faágra szállt. ― The bird alighted on a tree branch.

4. (intransitive, of inheritance, legacy) to come into someone’s ownership, to fall on someone, to be transferred to someone by law (used with -ra/-re)

   Synonym: jut

   Az örökség rám száll. ― The inheritance is transferred to me / I get the inheritance.
