taflu

Welsh

Alternative forms

  • taflyd, tawlu, towlu, twlu

Etymology

Cognate with Cornish tewlel and Breton teurel, with further origin unclear. GPC's tentative connection to Ancient Greek πτόλῐς (ptólĭs, city) is semantically unconvincing.
