From Aramaic רֵיחָא (rēḥā), possibly a diminutive form of רוּחָא (rūḥā, wind, spirit); compare Arabic رِيح (rīḥ, wind), رَائِحَة (rāʔiḥa) and Hebrew רֵיחַ (réakh).
