From Old Khmer hoḥ (“to fly by supernatural power”). Cognate with Modern Khmer ហោះ (hɑh).

เหาะ • (hɔ̀) (abstract noun การเหาะ)

1. to fly, move in the air, or travel through the air by supernatural power.
   • Psalm 18:10, KJV:

     พระองค์ทรงเครูบตนหนึ่งแล้วทรงไป พระองค์ทรงไปโดยปีกของลมอย่างรวดเร็ว

     prá-ong song kee-rúup dton nʉ̀ng lɛ́ɛo song hɔ̀ bpai · prá-ong song hɔ̀ bpai dooi bpìik kɔ̌ɔng lom yàang rûuat-reo

     And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.
