Usage notes

  • Unlike Mandarin (), Cantonese (go2) cannot be used alone without a following classifier.
  • In the now-obsolete 简化字总表, - is listed in the first table in which non-analogizable pairs of simplified and traditional Chinese characters are collected. In the current standard 通用规范汉字表, neither nor 𠮶 is listed. Therefore, 𠮶 is a nonstandard simplified form. However, it is still widely used in Cantonese dictionaries published in Mainland China.
