rauscharm

German

Etymology

From Rauschen (gerund of rauschen (to rustle)) +‎ -arm (low in, literally poor). The suffix -arm is added to nominals; nevertheless the gerund behaves like a normal infinitive dropping the suffix -en. Derivation from Rausch is semantically ruled out.

Pronunciation
