From Middle English Estlond, from Old English Ēstland, equivalent to Est + -land.

Derived from the plural noun Ēste (“the Estonians”), from the name of the Aestii tribe (see Wikipedia). The first element could also be an unattested singular form *Ēst, from the same source. In any case, the second element is land.
