Etymology
Literally, “to go swipe-up”, referring to the swipe-up function in Instagram stories. Usually linked to the "death" of the feature announced in August 2021,[1] but the expression is attested as early as June of same year. Part of a series of Brazilian euphemisms for death starting with ir de.
