    Usage notes

In Brazil, the karaokê is more common than the unadapted spelling. The adapted spellings caraoque / caraoquê are prescribed, but the words are much more commonly spelled with k. Unadapted spellings, such as karaoke are often prescribed to be written italicized, though in practice in rarely happens.
