- A digit 10 in the decimal acrophonic numeral system that predated the gematria system. An abbreviation of δέκα (déka, “ten”). Equivalent to the Roman numeral X.
Usage notes
The basic acrophonic units are Ι 1, 𐅃 5, Δ 10, Η 100, Χ 1000 and Μ 10,000. Δ is iterated for ΔΔ 20, ΔΔΔ 30 and ΔΔΔΔ 40, and combines with 𐅃 for 50.
