  In the end, if we want to know how many tones that Taiwanese has, we have to look region by region. Lugang Taiwanese has eight tones, while in the Taiwanese of most people in Tainan and Taibei, only seven tones remain. However, this is certainly not a contest. It's not a game of whoever has the most tones is the best, otherwise Cantonese with its nine tones would have the easy victory!
