Etymology

From kata (“we (dual)”) + -mu (“you (singular)”).. Compare Tagalog tayo (ta +‎ -yo), Ilocano datayo (data +‎ -yo), Pangasinan sikatayo (sikata +‎ yo), and Tausug taniyu (ta +‎ niyu).

Usage notes

  • The word katamu usually replaces ikatamu when in the middle of a sentence.
