Etymology

From kata (we (dual)) + -mu (you (singular)).. Compare Tagalog tayo (ta +‎ -yo), Ilocano datayo (data +‎ -yo), Pangasinan sikatayo (sikata +‎ yo), and Tausug taniyu (ta +‎ niyu).

Pronoun

  1. Second-person dual absolutive independent pronoun; we (two) and at least one other person; us (two) and at least one other person; you and I and at least one other person; you and me and at least one other person.

Usage notes

  • The word katamu usually replaces ikatamu when in the middle of a sentence.
