- Added to stems of adjectives, rarely to the stems of verbs, and even more rarely to the stems of nouns, to form feminine abstract nouns
Usage notes
When this suffix is appended to verbal adjectives in -τός (-tós) or other stems in τ, the τ palatalizes to σ.
Example: ἄκρατος > ἀκρασία
